I went to Claremont City Hall last night to attend the city council meeting. I understood the issue of partial occupation of the City Hall property would be discussed. I was greeted at the door by a person that is part of Occupy Claremont and given a leaflet which I have scanned and uploaded to this blog posting. In addition I was given a cookie which I ate.
Most of those present in the city council meeting supported the Occupy Claremont movement. Some obviously were college students as they had college text books making it appear that they have come straight to City Hall from a college class.
At least one of the speakers supporting Occupy Claremont was a college professor at Pitzer College. There were a few present connected to more conservative political groups like the Republican Party or the Tea Party.
I will have more to post on this matter later. I have only lived in Claremont CA for six years and I am not an expert on local politics. Nor do I desire to be an expert on local politics.
The "Pledge of Nonviolence comes from Occupy Los Angeles; therefore it is not original. A fact admitted on the Occupy Clarement website.
